Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao extended greetings to the people of Telangana on the eve of its eighth formation day.
The Chief Minister said after numerous agitations and sacrifices, the State was achieved in a democratic manner and is now making the entire country proud with its achievements. He expressed happiness that strong foundations were laid for sustainable development of the State within seven years of its existence.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister stated that the State government is putting into action the movement’s slogans. Infrastructure is being developed to address issues pertaining to irrigation, drinking water, electricity, education, medicine, and roads among others with both short-term and long-term goals in a planned manner.
He said Telangana, created as the 29th State in India, is proud to have become a model State for the rest of the country in terms of development and welfare.
Chandrashekhar Rao said the sectors which were neglected under the undivided Andhra Pradesh governments are being developed with a vision. As the State’s population comprises about 90 per cent of those from SC, ST, BC and minority communities, the government has been implementing several schemes aimed at their development and welfare.
“We are determined and committed to putting the
aspirations of people of the State into action and paying real tributes to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifices by developing the State on all fronts,” he added.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the State government is supporting the needy, including the elderly, the disabled, women, artisans, caste-based and other professionals through various schemes. He said the government is sharing the fruits of Telangana State by supporting its people and partnering with them in their socio-economic development.
“There is a strong initiation and commitment of the government in developing the State into the Rice Bowl of India within a short span of seven years by supporting farmers and reviving the agriculture sector,” he said.
Chandrashekhar Rao said the State government had succeeded in stabilising the agriculture sector and financially strengthening the rural economy by taking up irrigation projects. He thanked the people of Telangana for their contribution and support in achieving the feat.
Despite some obstacles to the State exchequer due to the pandemic, Chandrashekhar Rao declared that the State is moving forward with the cooperation of people. He made it clear that he would not rest until Telangana transforms into a Bangaru Telangana with the faith extended by the people in the State government.
