Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao felicitated noted Kinnera player Darshanam Mogilaiah at Pragathi Bhavan here on Friday on the occasion of the latter being named for the prestigious Padma Shri award. He announced a house site in Hyderabad and Rs 1 crore to Mogilaiah.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister appreciated Mogilaiah for preserving the great art form of Kinnera that the entire Telangana was proud of. He asked MLA Guvvala Balaraju to coordinate with Mogilaiah and make
necessary arrangements for identification of house site as well as oversee the construction of the house.
He stated that the State government was already providing a honorarium to Mogilaiah recognising his services to the rare art form and it would continue to support such artists who are striving to revive the art forms of Telangana.
Ministers V Srinivas Goud, Ch Malla Reddy, MLA Alla Venkateshwar Reddy and others were present.
