Banswada: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced the sanction of Rs.50 crore for the development of Banswada Assembly constituency in Kamareddy district.
The Chief Minister along with his wife Shobha on Wednesday participated in the Kalyanotsavam of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy as part of Brahmotsavams being organised at Sri Tirumala Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Thimmapur of Birkur mandal in Banswada Assembly constituency which represents Telangana Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
Addressing the people after taking part in the Kalyanotsavam, the Chief Minister said that the Banswada Assembly segment was developed exponentially under the leadership of Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and he got to know that farmers from Banswada area alone were producing paddy worth Rs.1,500 crores.
The Chief Minister said he had
decided to allocate another Rs.50 crores for the development of Banswada constituency under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund and asked the officials to release the funds immediately in this regard.
In addition to this, KCR also announced the sanction of Rs 7 crore for completing the retaining wall and other pending works of Venkateshwara Swamy temple. the Chief Minister had earlier released Rs 23 crore for reconstruction of the temple.
Earlier, the Chief Minister was accorded a grand welcome by Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy and other elected representatives when the latter reached Banswada by a special helicopter. During the Kalyanotsavam, the Chief Minister presented a 2 kg gold crown donated by devotees to the presiding deity.
