CM KCR asks officials to initiate special measures in Hyderabad city

Telangana has reported 61 more positive cases and a death on Monday prompting the State government to adopt a special strategy to check the spread of pandemic in the State capital. With this the total number of coronavirus positive cases in the state went up to 592 and the toll stood at 17.

After a high-level review meeting conducted here on Monday, the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao asked officials to initiate special measures in the State capital, with many cases getting reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) areas.

Considering that fact that the many of the Covid 19 infected persons belonged to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) jurisdiction, the Chief Minister K Chandrashkhar Rao on Monday directed officials to concentrate more on Hyderabad. He directed them to segregate the city into several zones and to appoint Special Officers to each zone considering each zone as an unit.

The Chief Ministers’ orders came after he has reviewed the steps initiated to contain the spread of the virus, the Lockdown and other related



issues at Pragathi Bhavan. The Chief Minister wanted effective implementation of Containment in designated areas where positive Corona cases have been reported. He directed the officers involved in the fight against Corona and the general public to be vigilant as number of cases are increasing in the states bordering Telangana , at the national and International level.

“Number of cases are getting registered under the GHMC area . The chances of spreading of the virus to others is also more in the city. Hence special attention is required to tackle the spread. Divide all the 17 circles into 17 units. Each Unit should have a Medical, Police, Municipal and Revenue officer,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister was informed by the officials that 32 more positive cases have been reported on Monday and one succumbed to the virus. They informed the hospitals and laboratories have been kept on high alert and are ready to tackle any number of cases. They said that a system is ready to 1000 to 1100 samples can tested everyday.
