Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday congratulated President-elect Ram Nath Kovind on his victory, while BJP’s Telangana unit held celebrations on the occasion.
Rao hoped that Kovind would be successful in continuing the federal spirit of the country’s democracy, a release from the Chief Minister’s office said. “The CM hoped that under the leadership of Kovind the country will make progress in all fields. The CM also hoped that Ram Nath Kovind
will be victorious in continuing the federal spirit which is a part of Indian democracy,” it said.
The ruling TRS, which is led by Rao, had extended support to Kovind’s candidature in the Presidential election. State BJP president K Laxman has announced earlier in the day that Kovind’s victory would be celebrated at the residential localities of Dalits in the State.
