Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao unfurled the National Flag at Golconda Fort on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day celebrations. 

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister paid tributes to Telangana martyrs who lost their lives in the separate statehood movement. He affirmed that Telangana has achieved 14.84 Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) during 2018-19, said KCR citing the centre's report. "It was achieved due to proper usage of the income generated resources," KCR said adding that the state income was doubled in the last five years.

KCR went on to list the laws initiated by the government including new zones, new municipal act, new



revenue act. "To implement the acts, the government is planning to initiate a 60-day programme in the towns and villages and it is also decided to released finance commission grants to all the local bodies in the state before implementing the plan, " said KCR.

The primary aim of the programme is to main cleanliness in all the villages and towns, said the chief minister. A 'Power Week' will be held for the proper maintenance of the electric poles and wires. KCR also directed to fill up the vacancies in Panchayat Raj department. The chief minister appreciated the State Police Department for maintaining peace in the state.
