CM KCR inaugurates the Integrated District Collectorate complex in Kamareddy

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday assured that Godavari River water would be brought to the mandals in Kamareddy and Yellareddy from Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. “I will convene a meeting to finalise the proposed irrigation schemes in Kamareddy district within a fortnight and also release necessary funds for their speedy completion,” he said.

The Chief Minister also sanctioned a government medical college for the district which will commence operations from next academic year. The Chief Minister, who inaugurated the Integrated District Collectorate complex and the District Police Office complex here, showered gifts for development of the district. 

He directed the officials to release Rs 50 crore towards development works in Kamareddy Municipality, Rs 25 crore each for Banswada and Yellareddy municipalities and also Rs 10 lakh each to 526 gram panchayats in the district.

These funds will be released in addition to the funds being released to the local bodies every month. Besides, he also sanctioned two 33/11 KV sub-stations at Banjapally and Gajya Naik Thanda for which works will commence soon. Further, a traffic police station was allocated for Kamareddy district headquarters and upgradation of the rural police station.

and highway. With development of basic infrastructure, it has great future for growth. I will be a tool for its development,” he said. He also took the responsibility of taking up proposed irrigation projects in the district. The Godavari water from Kaleshwaram project will be lifted and pumped into Kondam Cheruvu in Nizamabad Rural mandal to facilitate supply of water to Kamareddy and Yellareddy mandals.

Emphasising the need for upliftment of the weaker sections, Chandrashekhar Rao urged the elected representatives to work together and drive away the social evils like caste discrimination which was everyone’s responsibility. Pointing out that the State government had already announced the Chief Minister’s Dalit Empowerment scheme and allotted Rs 1,000 crore in the budget, he stated that funds will be released soon under the scheme and asked the elected representatives to ensure that the eligible persons benefit from the same.

“We could not implement the scheme earlier due to financial crisis induced by the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier, I did not have hesitate to announce allotment of Rs 100-200 crore for a project or scheme, but today I have to think twice even to spend Rs 10 due,” he explained, and urged people to follow Covid-19 protocol despite the lifting of lockdown restrictions without fail.
