Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the inauguration of the renovated temple of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Yadadri, scheduled to be held between October and November. The muhurat for the inaugural ceremony is yet to be finalised by seer Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. Prime Minister Modi responded positively and promised to attend the ceremony upon finalisation of the dates, it was stated.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister in New Delhi on Friday, Chandrashekhar Rao informed that the Maha Sudharshana Yagam will be performed with nearly 1,000 to 1,500 Ruthviks marking the inauguration of the renovated temple complex which was taken up as a prestigious project.
He explained that the deity was self-manifested (Swayambhu) and the temple was of spiritual and historic significance for people
of Telangana and neighbouring States. The temple is being developed with an expenditure of Rs 1,200 crore where Rs 1,000 crore had been already spent. The renovation was taken up four years ago and the temple area has been expanded to 4.5 acres from just 2,500 square yards on the hillock.
The Chief Minister also requested the Prime Minister to allot land to the State government for construction of a new official building of the State government ‘Telangana Bhavan’ in New Delhi. The existing ‘Telangana Bhavan’ is only a portion of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Bhavan which was divided between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh following Telangana State formation. Hence, he sought an exclusive official building for Telangana in New Delhi, on the lines of other States which have their State Bhavans in the national capital.
