Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao issued B-forms to all the 107 TRS candidates at a meeting convened for them in Telangana Bhavan on Sunday evening. While the Chief Minister will file his nomination on November 14, the majority of the party candidates are also said to be gearing up to file their nominations on the same day.

At the meeting which lasted nearly three hours, Chandrashekhar Rao issued directions to the candidates on their behaviour, filing error-free nominations and electioneering. “The Chief Minister was explicit about filing nominations without giving any room for errors and advised us to hire advocates to guide us in this regard,” one of the TRS MLA candidates said.

The Chief Minister is also learnt to have shared information pertaining to new guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) including the declaration of assets as well as cases filed against the candidates. He asked the candidates not to indulge in arguments with people in general and the officials in particular. He reportedly asked them to follow the ECI guidelines to perfection. Rao cautioned the candidates against getting into any controversies

and wanted them to maintain good relations with people and also coordinate with all the partymen burying all differences. He also shared audio songs and video clips with the candidates to be used during electioneering.

Interestingly, the Chief Minister is learnt to have declared that TDP would be contesting from around 14 seats in the State and three of them — Amberpet, Khairatabad and LB Nagar, were undecided. He had reportedly even declared names of a few TDP candidates who would be given tickets on behalf of Prajakutami. “He observed that Congress vote share will not be transferred to TDP candidates and vice versa,” an MLA nominee said.

The Chief Minister reportedly shared information pertaining to the election results and was confident about crossing the 100 seat mark and cited several survey reports including that of the Opposition parties which were in favour of TRS. “Except for 10-12 seats, the TRS nominees will win with huge margins against their nearest rivals. He wanted us to focus on our campaign without giving much thought to the opponents,” another MLA nominee stated.
