A new swanky camp-office-cum residence for Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao which is under construction in a sprawling nine-acre land closer to the existing Begumpet camp office would become operational on Dasara festival this October.
The foundation stone for the new camp office was laid in March this year.
Officials said the works had been taken up on a fast pace on the instructions of the Chief Minister himself. In all probability, the construction work would be completed before Dasara, a senior official of the State Roads and Buildings department said, adding that the housewarming ceremony would be done on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dasami.
While, the existing camp office would be converted as VVIP guest house to provide accommodation for  the important visiting persons from other States and the Union government. The proposal has been

forwarded to the Chief Minister for his approval.
Since the visits of VVIPs to the State have increased in the recent times, officials said providing accommodation to the visitors had become difficult in the existing Manjeera and Dilkusha guest houses. The other one - Lake View guest house - has been given to AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu  who converted it as his camp office during his stay in Hyderabad.
Officials said that interior decoration work in the camp office would be more time consuming. By the end of November the work taken up for the construction of the palatial conference hall and parking places would be completed.
The new camp office would be equipped with hi-tech video conferencing facility linking all district headquarters and police head offices to hold big meetings during emergency times.
