Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday called for strict discipline at every stage of planning the State’s budget to make the best use of the financial resources of the State.
On the second day of meetings with officials at Pragathi Bhavan on budget preparation, the Chief Minister reiterated the importance of fiscal discipline at every step of budget planning and expenditure in the light of the country’s economic slowdown.
To ensure that everyone understands and follows the principles of financial discipline and measures, the Chief Minster will soon hold a meeting with his Cabinet colleagues and senior officials to explain the current financial situation and the precautions to be taken on the expenditure front. This meeting will be held before the government presents the budget in the Assembly next month, a CMO

Tuesday’s meeting was attended by State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar, Chief Advisor to the government Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretaries B Narsing Rao, Ramakrishna Rao and senior officials of the Finance Department. The meeting discussed possible dates for the budget session.
As per information provided by Assembly secretariat, the session could begin either on September 4, 9 or 14. These dates were arrived at after taking into consideration Vinayaka Chathurthi, idol immersions and Mohurrum next month. Other things taken into consideration were some holidays and factors such as International Conference for Speakers and Legislature Secretaries in South Africa from September 24, which the Telangana Assembly Speaker and Legislature Secretary would attend.
