CM KCR to adopt one district in Telangana

The Chief Minister announced that he would soon adopt an entire district and participate personally in Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programmes in the adopted district. “I will directly monitor the development in the district,” he said.

Addressing a marathon meeting on the progress of Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programmes at Pragathi Bhavan here on Sunday, Chandrashekhar Rao called on Additional District Collectors along with officials of Panchayati Raj and Municipal Administration departments to work as a team, to lead the villages and towns on the path of progress. 

The Principal Secretary for Finance was instructed to immediately allocate Rs 25 lakh each to all the District Additional Collectors empowering them to sanction emergency funds to address the problems of local bodies. A Government Order was handed over to all the additional collectors on the occasion.

Adopting the carrot-and-stick policy, Chandrashekhar Rao warned that any lapse on the part of officials will be viewed seriously and stern action will be initiated immediately, even as he offered complete support to officials who work with dedication for effective implementation of government programmes.

The Chief Minister said he will start his surprise visits to some places in Siddipet and Kamareddy districts on June 20. He will visit Warangal district on June 21 where he will participate in inspection of a few villages, apart from inaugurating the Warangal district collectorate complex and also lay foundation stone for the proposed multi-super specialty hospital in the city.

“With the onset of monsoon, we should take up planting of saplings under Haritha Haram at the earliest. My visits to different districts as



well as participation in Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programmes, will be part of these inspections. The performance of the officials will be analysed and stern action will be initiated against those who fail to implement the government programmes effectively. No excuses will be allowed,” he reiterated.

Chandrashekhar Rao stressed the need for strengthening the public healthcare system in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic through improvements in the existing infrastructure further. He pointed out that government had already sanctioned seven medical colleges and expedited its plans to construct a multi-super specialty hospital in Warangal. 

“The proposed hospital in Warangal will be a 24-storeyed green building, with all modern equipment of international standards. A helipad will be constructed atop the building for emergency cases. The officials have been asked to visit Canada to study and replicate the hospitals there to facilitate cross ventillation for proper flow of air and light,” he said.

Ministers KT Rama Rao, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman B Vinod Kumar, legislators Kadiam Srihari, Hanmanthu Shinde, Vidyasagar Rao, Chirumarthi Lingaiah, Patnam Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Principal Secretaries S Narsing Rao, K Ramakrishna Rao, Arvind Kumar, Secretaries Sandeep Kumar Sultania, SAM Rizvi, Smitha Sabharwal, Bhoopal Reddy and other senior officials from the Panchayat Raj, Municipal Administration, Forests, and also Medical and Health departments, participated in the meeting. Additional District Collectors and District Panchayat Officers from all the districts were also present.
