Siddipet: Siddipet district headquarters is all set to get one of the largest double bedroom colonies in the State. With construction of over 2,300 of the 2,460 double bedroom houses grounded in G+2 mode completed, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is scheduled to inaugurate the houses during his visit to Siddipet on December 10.
The double bedroom houses colony, constructed in 45 acres of land at Narsapur village on the outskirts of Siddipet town, will be a model for the double bedroom housing scheme in the State since it comes with all the basic amenities provided in a gated community. The government has spent over Rs 160 crore on the project. The amenities include drinking water supply and piped gas connection to every house.
Apart from completing
the CC roads in the colonies, officials have also completed the underground drainage system. The colony will also have an integrated market, community hall with all facilities, a children’s park, parking place, temple and a police outpost.
Finance Minister T Harish Rao said a sump with 6-lakh litre storage capacity and an overhead water tank with 60 kilolitre storage capacity have been constructed to provide round-the-clock water to the 2BHK houses.
Besides installing electricity poles, LED bulbs were used all over the colony to save on power consumption. Officials received 11,657 applications of which 1,341 have been allotted after thorough scrutiny of each application by the beneficiaries.
