Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will take part in the closing ceremony of year-long Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu at HICC here on Friday. Rao launched the event on August 8 last year to commemorate India's 75 years of Independence.
The CM is expected to make an announcement on observing September 17 as "Telangana National Integration Day" officially, at Friday's event. It may be recalled that the Telangana government for the first time observed September 17 as
"Telangana National Integration Day" last year.
The celebrations were held for 15 days till August 22 with an aim to create awareness among the people, particularly youth, about the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle.
Over 1.20 crore National Flags were distributed free of cost to households throughout the state, with an appeal that the Tricolour be hoisted on Independence Day.
