Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will continue his tours of districts after the conclusion of celebrations of the Tenth State Formation Day on June 22. He will visit districts to distribute podu land pattas to tribals. He will also lay special focus on the long-pending distribution of 2BHK houses to poor in districts besides HMDA limits.

BRS sources said that the Chief Minister will visit Asifabad on June 24 and launch the distribution of podu land pattas to tribals. Tribals in possession of forest lands and doing agriculture for decades have been demanding pattas (ownership rights) for long.

The BRS government had promised to give pattas during 2014 and 2018 elections but could not be fulfilled so far due to legal and procedural issues.

The government invited applications from tribals seeking

pattas.

Applications were received from 26 districts with a tribal population. In the first phase, officials identified 1.50 lakh tribals in possession of 4.05 lakh acres for whom pattas will be distributed now.

The Chief Minister will visit Kollur on city outskirts on June 22 to inaugurate 2BHK Towers comprising 15,690 flats and formally launch the distribution programmes. Since the final list of beneficiaries is yet to be approved, the CM will distribute six flats to six beneficiaries from six constituencies under HMDA limits, which matches the CM's lucky number 'six'. Officials will continue distribution of flats to remaining beneficiaries in a phased manner after the final selection list is released.

The Chief Minister is expected to visit a few more districts to distribute 2BHK units in July and August.
