Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday announced that he will soon visit the Gulf nations and ask migrants from Telangana in those countries to return home.
“They are facing many challenges and troubles in the Gulf after going there to find work and provide for their families back home. There is enough work here in Telangana and they should return home,” he said.
The Chief Minister said the Telangana government will provide training for the returnees at the National Academy of Construction here in the city and will discuss with builders and construction companies on finding employment for those who will comeback to the State.
“People from erstwhile Karimnagar, Nizamabad and other parts of Telangana have gone to the Gulf countries in search of employment and are working there at whatever jobs they could find. The salaries they get there are also not much. The situation in Telangana is not like in the past and there are now
many opportunities to find employment,” he said.
Chandrashekhar Rao said job opportunities were now available in State in the construction industry and the situation is such that Telangana needs people from other States to come here to do these jobs. “This situation should change. The government is of the view that it should encourage migrants to Gulf to return home. I will go there to explain these issues to the migrants,” he said.
The Chief Minister said he will also hold a meeting with legislators from districts from where large number of people have migrated to Gulf nations in search of employment. Meanwhile, the government announced that a team of officials will travel to Kerala on Sunday to study that State’s NRI policy. The team will comprise Chief Advisor to the government Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary SK Joshi, CMO Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao, and GAD Principal Secretary Adhar Sinha.
