Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday sprang a surprise on Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy by saying that he would soon visit the latter’s house for lunch. KCR recalled that it was a long-established tradition when the State was united that successive Chief Ministers discussed various issues with the Leaders of Opposition over lunch. He said he would like follow the tradition.
The Chief Minister made the statement when Jana Reddy thanked the Chief Minister for giving a detailed reply and said it appeared
that KCR had his lunch before coming to the House to give reply. “I was not invited by him,” he said.
Earlier, D K Aruna, Congress, said the ‘SHE teams’ should be deployed in the Assembly to protect the woman MLAs. She said the ruling party legislators were not allowing women opposition member to speak. The ruling party MLAs, she said, were making “running commentary.” Even Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy whom she considers a father figure was making some comments, she said.
