Achieving a hat-trick in the Assembly elections is not a difficult task, but securing 100-plus seats should be the goal, said BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao said at the party plenary here on Thursday, while urging party leaders and cadre to work hard to achieve Mission-100.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, the CM said the polls may be held at any time from October and they should be prepared. "In the 2014, we won 63 seats which increased to 88 in 2018 and we should cross the 100 mark in 2023," he said adding that the surveys he had commissioned indicated that the BRS would easily win 100 seats.
"We have 104 MLAs at present. We should cross this number this year," Rao asserted.
"Election should be not by chance, but by choice. Today’s politics are dynamic. Don't wait until you're thirsty to dig a well. This kind of attitude will not work in today's politics. You need to put plans in place today and
execute them, to achieve success tomorrow," Rao remarked.
The CM asked MLAs to take steps to address discontent among local leaders and cadre, stating that party leaders should aggressively take the development programmes and welfare schemes implemented by the BRS government over the last nine years to the people and seek their support. "Interact with the public and mingle with people regularly. Remain accessible and try to resolve people's issues," he stated.
He asked the MPs, ZP chairpersons, and district in-charges to take care of the Assembly constituencies which are not represented by BRS MLAs. "This process should be completed within 3 to 4 months," he instructed.
The CM expressed his plans that the party may go for TV ads and film production in the future to take BRS to the masses. "If necessary, the party should run a TV channel for the purpose," he said.
