Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will leave for New Delhi on Monday along with TRS MPs and senior leaders to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Ramnath Kovind on Tuesday .
During his three-day stay, the chief minister will meet Union finance minister Arun Jaitley to request for the Bison Polo grounds from the defence ministry . The TRS government has already submitted a request to the Centre to hand over the ground along with part of the Gymkana Grounds in Secunderabad, where it wants to build a Secretariat.
KCR is also likely to request the finance minister to take a decision
on exempting beedi and granite industries from the purview of GST as a large number of people in the state are earning their livelihood through these units.He will also request for sufficient cash to be released for the state as farmers are suffering due to shortage of notes.
KCR will later meet Union home minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the proposed increase of Assembly seats in the state. As per the AP Reorganisation Act, the seats should be increased to 153 from 119. Though the BJP agreed in principle to move the amendment bill in Parliament, it has not completed the required process.
