Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao paid homage to those who laid down their lives down to protect the motherland, laying a wreath at the Veerula Sainik Smarak at the Army Parade Ground in Secunderabad on Tuesday, Independence Day.

Among those who laid wreaths at the ceremony to pay tribute was the most junior soldier followed by Air Vice Marshal



Chandrashekhar, Commandant, Air Force Academy, Major General Rakesh Manocha, General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra sub area, and senior officers.

Military veterans and serving personnel were present at the ceremony where the tunes played by the military band added to the occasion.
