Telangana state Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday spoke to Union minister and state BJP president G. Kishan Reddy and sought the Central government’s cooperation for the sake of development of the state.
Responding to the request, Kishan Reddy advised a special meeting between the officials of the state government and central government to find solutions to problems.
The previous BRS government and the Centre were at loggerheads over funds and the grant of special status to projects like Kaleshwaram. A call by the Telangana Chief Minister could herald a new beginning in relations
between the state and the Centre as the state government would need the Centre’s financial assistance as it was steeped in debts.
Reacting to the Telangana CMO’s official announcement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), one user appreciated the decision to speak to the Union minister, saying "Thank you sir for making forward steps towards the development and prosperity of Telangana State. (SIC)"
Another user called it a "Good initiative from the local government of Telangana" (sic), while another called it an excellent move.
