Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to formulate a new tourism policy for Telangana by February 10. He instructed officials to conduct a detailed study of the best tourism policies of different states in India as well as other countries and incorporate them into the new tourism policy to attract domestic and international tourists in huge numbers.
During a review meeting on tourism development on Wednesday, the Chief Minister made key suggestions to promote eco-tourism, temple tourism and the development of the tourism circuit in Hyderabad.
He suggested a joint action plan between revenue, forest and tourism departments to attract devotees and tourists during the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara. A tourism circuit connecting nearby tourist areas
and temples during the Jatara should be developed to attract more tourists.
The Chief Minister also ordered the officials to envisage plans to develop eco-tourism in the areas like Adilabad, Warangal and Nagarjunasagar. The Singapore-style eco-tourism policies will also be studied to improve the tourism infrastructure in the state.
In view of the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027 and Krishna Pushkaralu in 2028, Revanth Reddy asked the officials to prepare plans to attract devotees and tourists from across the country. He also instructed the officials to examine the issue of developing a tourism circuit by connecting Sanjeevaiah Park, NTR Park and Indira Park in the vicinity of Hussainsagar lake in Hyderabad.
