Following a call given by the BRS working president KT Rama Rao the party leaders performed ‘palabhishekam’ to Telangana Thalli statues all over erstwhile Khammam district on Tuesday.
The party city president Pagadala Nagaraju, senior leaders Gundala Krishna, K Nagabhushanam, Bommera Rammurthy and others performed palabhishekam to the statue of Telangana Talli at NTR circle in Khammam and shouted slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his decision to install Rajiv Gandhi statue at the State secretariat in Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media Nagaraju and Krishna said that Revanth Reddy
wanted to impress his Delhi bosses by installing a Rajiv Gandhi statue at the secretariat, which was built as a symbol of the Telangana people’s self-respect.
The leaders questioned the purpose of installing the statue of a Congress party leader despite public opposition. Revanth Reddy, who did not support Telangana movement and pointed a gun at statehood activists in the past was continuing to damage Telangana self-respect, they alleged.
BRS leaders B Nagachandra Reddy, M Shravani Sudhakar, K Vallaraju, Danda Jyoti Reddy, Mateti Aruna Nageswara Rao, Thota Umarani Veerabhadram and others were present.
