Telangana Government plans to conduct Osmania University Centenary celebrations in a grand manner next year. The Osmania varsity noted for its international prominence which was established in 1917 will complete 100 years of its establishment and the state government wants to get back its glory, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said. During a high level review meeting at camp office he asked deputy chief minister Kadiam Srihari to form a committee for the celebrations.
Stating that the varsity will get a full time Vice Chancellor, KCR asked MP Keshava Rao- a former student- to lead a advisory committee
for the celebrations by inviting the alumni of the varsity who are settled in various fields, foreign nations and holding the top notch posts including educationists, scientists, judges, literates, civil servants, corporate honchos, journalists, sports persons and other prominent personalities.
KCR expressed anguish at the news of fake certificates and leakage of examination papers. He directed the police officials to act tough on such people who weaken the educational institutions and ridicule examination system in the state. Officials should make efforts to prevent the recurrence of such cases he asked.
