The Union Ministry of Coal and Mines will be organising a two-day National Conference of Mines Ministers in Hyderabad beginning today. The meeting will focus on formulating new and effective strategies to further encourage mineral exploration in the country. It will also assess the effectiveness of recent policy reforms brought about by the Centre in the mining sector.
Union Minister of Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi, Minister of State for Mines, Coal Rao Saheb Patil Danve, secretaries of coal, mines
ministries, ministers from different States, principal secretaries of the concerned ministries and other senior officials will be attending the conference.
The organisers informed that the National Mines Ministers' conference will be an effective platform to put forward the constraints faced by the State governments in the mineral sector. The conference is also expected to strengthen the cooperation between the ministry of mines and various State governments.
