Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy has demanded the Telangana Government to order a probe into the earlier BRS government’s misdeeds in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).

Addressing the media last evening, the minister alleged that the BRS government and its Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family had destroyed the Singareni by looting it. He said the BRS government had damaged Singareni financially through its flawed decisions.

Mr Kishan Reddy said if the Congress government is sincere, it should order a

thorough investigation into the loot and the manipulation of bills in Singareni. He also said he will write a letter on behalf of the Central Government seeking an inquiry into the misdeeds that took place in Singareni during BRS rule. Ruling out BRS allegations about privatisation of Singareni, Mr Reddy said the Centre is auctioning coal mines transparently in line with the Supreme Court’s verdict. He made it clear that Singareni will not be privatised. The State has 51 per cent stakes in Singareni while the Centre has 49 percent.
