Karimnagar: Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed asked the officials to provide basic facilities such as residence, drinking water, toilets and electricity to Orissa workers at brick kiln units.

The Collector organised a coordination meeting with brick kiln owners and officers at collectorate conference hall here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said manufacturing of bricks would be started in October and the labourers would be brought from Orissa.

So, he asked the officials to establish schools and anganwadi centres for children of labourers well in advance. He also wanted the officials to organise a medical camp. He



instructed the authorities to record the details of pregnant women and provide treatment every month.

Collector instructed welfare officers to provide nutritious food to pregnant ladies and lactation women. Balamrutham to below three years children and food to children between three to six years should also be provided, he directed officials.  Besides registering the names of workers with labour office, insurance should also be provided to them. Instead of approaching brokers to get labourers from Orissa, the Collector advised them to approach TATA trust which is supplying workers to Karimnagar from the past 10 to 15 years.
