City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, today appealed to all the holders of Arms Licences residing in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, except those on guard duty, to deposit their weapons to the police stations concerned on or before March 20 in view of parliamentary elections in the State on April 11.

In a statement here yesterday, the Police Commissioner said those possessing weapons for guard duties on the



premises of Nationalised Banks, Public Sector undertakings and Security Personnel, Sports Men, who are Members of National Rifle Association at different levels and have to participate in various sporting events in which they need to use their rifles, are exempted from this order. The weapons deposited may be taken back by the Licence Holders on or after May 27 after completion of the election process, he added.
