The All India
Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen on Wednesday demanded that the Physical
Measurement Test (PMT) for recruitment to the posts of Sub-Inspector and
Constables in Telangana Police be either held before Ramzan or after the end of
holy month.
AIMIM General Secretary
and Charminar MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri met Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma and
Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board chairman Purnachandra Rao
requesting them not to hold the test
during the month of Ramzan, the month of
fasting for Muslims. He informed them that the holy month of Ramzan is likely
to begin to 7th June. He said it would be difficult for thousands of Muslim
candidates to appear for physical test while fasting.
Both the DGP and TSLPRB Chairman have assured that either the physical tests would either be conducted after Ramzan or the Muslim candidates would be given an alternate date to appear for the test.
