Nizamabad: The voters of the undivided Nizamabad district gave a mixed verdict, electing four Congress, three BJP, and two BRS MLAs. Nizamabad rural, Bodhan, Yellareddy, and Jukkal (SC) were won by the Congress, while Nizamabad urban, Armoor, and Kamareddy were won by the BJP. The BRS, which gained eight MLA seats in the 2018 elections, is currently limited to the Banswada and Balkonda Assembly regions.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was defeated for the first time in 1983 Assembly elections, and he has never looked back since. In the Kamareddy Assembly constituency, however, he was beaten by BJP candidate Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy.

Minister K.T. Rama Rao, the BRS working president, directly supervised the Kamareddy Assembly constituency but was unable to gain the seat. Anti-incumbency, combined with dissension in the Kamareddy BRS leadership, has cost the party supremo dearly.

BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the CM's daughter, took over Nizamabad urban and Bodhan Assembly constituencies after party MLAs Bigala Ganesh Gupta and Shakil Amer had lost to BJP candidate Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta and Congress nominee P. Sudarshan Reddy. Kavitha's efforts failed in both segments, and she suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2019 Parliament elections.

P. Sudarshan Reddy, a Congress MLA candidate from Bodhan, was elected for the fourth time. In the Nizamabad rural Assembly constituency, Dr R. Bhupathi Reddy defeated his nearest rival, BRS MLA Bajireddy Govardhan. Thota Laxmikantha Rao, a newcomer to politics, was elected as Jukkal MLA by defeating incumbent BRS MLA

Hanmanth Shinde.

Three BJP candidates were elected to the Nizamabad urban, Kamareddy, and Armoor constituencies for the first time. Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta was elected as the BJP's MLA from urban after defeating Congress nominee Mohammad Ali Shabbir and knocking off BRS sitting MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta. Ganesh Gupta had blown the opportunity to become the first MLA to win a hat trick. Armoor BRS existing MLA A.Jeevan Reddy suffered the same fate as new newcomer Paidi Rakesh Reddy, who was elected as BJP MLA.

In a high-stakes race, Minister for Roads and Buildings V.Prashanth Reddy completed a hat trick by being elected as BRS MLA from Balkonda Assembly constituency, defeating Congress contender Muthyala Sunil Kumar Reddy.

Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy was elected to the Banswada Assembly constituency for the seventh time. Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, an elderly man from the undivided Nizamabad district, spent the most of his time in the Banswada Assembly constituency, which had positive outcomes.

K. Madanmohan Rao was elected as a Congress MLA in the Yellareddy Assembly constituency. Sitting MLA Jajala Surender was elected as a Congress MLA in the 2018 Assembly elections then switched allegiances to the BRS. In Kamareddy, BJP candidate Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy made a new record by defeating TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. Kamareddy drew the attention of two Telugu states as well as the entire country to the conflict between K. Chandrashekar Rao and Revanth Reddy.
