Suryapet: Power Minister G Jagdish Reddy on Friday alleged that Congress and BJP have colluded with the single point agenda of defeating the TRS candidate in the by-election to Huzurnagar Assembly constituency.
Jagdish Reddy was addressing a series of campaign meetings at Eldanda, Konaigudem and Kuthbshapiuram of Garidepally mandal in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency for TRS candidate Shanampudi Saidi Reddy.
Addressing a meeting at Eldanda village, Jagdish Reddy said votes have the power to change the fate of the people in a democracy. Citing the Legislative Assembly elections in 2014 as an example, the Minister said voting the TRS to power then had resulted in development of the State and series of schemes implemented for the welfare of the poor. “It completely changed the lives of the people in addition to development of the State,” he said, adding that it brought about revolutionary changes in welfare and development sectors in the State.
Stating that the TRS government was the only administration in the country extending 24 hours free power
supply to farmers, he said the Congress, on the other hand, was anti-farmers. “TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy did not open his mouth when water was not released to Left Canal of Nagarjuna Sagar Project for eight consecutive years during the Congress regime in undivided Andhra Pradesh. After 2014, the TRS government successfully ensure irrigation facility to tail end areas of Left Canal of NSP,” he pointed out.
Stating that Congress and BJP had colluded in the by-election, he said BJP State president K Laxman was acting as per the script written by Uttam Kumar Reddy. The two national parties are worried about the TRS strength in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency and are working with a hidden agenda, he said.
Jagdish Reddy exuded confidence that the TRS candidate would win the Huzurnagar by-election by a huge margin of votes.
Saidi Reddy said he would work for the development of the constituency if the people voted for his victory. TRS in-charge of Huzurnagar by-election Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and others also participated in the election campaign.
