The Congress is confident that its schemes for the poor, women and creating jobs for the youth among will stop the juggernaut roll of the ruling TRS in Telangana.
The Congress is fast gaining popularity among voters with its election manifesto, particularly the Rs.6,000 per month minimum income guarantee scheme for every poor family, the creation and filling up of 34 lakh jobs in government and other sectors by March 2020, the 33 per cent reservation to women in the Parliament and State Assemblies and the crop loan waiver.
In addition to the national level poll manifesto, Congress in Telangana has also promised an increase of reservations for Scheduled Tribes (STs) from 6 per cent to 10 per cent and from four per cent to 12 per cent for Muslims, proportionate to their
population.
Other promises being made by Congress in Telangana include the setting up of a Tribal university, a rail coach factory in Kazipet and a Steel Plant in Bayyaram.
“The promise of Rs/6,000 per month to every family is going to be the game-changer during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections which will make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister and oust the Modi-led BJP government at the Centre. The people of Telangana have also realised that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao are friends and are only playing a drama by criticising each other in a bid to mislead the voters,” Telangana Pradesh congress committee president, and contesting candidate from Nalgonda parliamentary constituency, N Uttam Kumar Reddy told.
