Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president K. Kodandaram will be Deputy Chief Minister if Grand Alliance forms government in upcoming elections. Congress core committee meeting in Hyderabad, yesterday, took some major decisions regarding elections campaign and seat sharing. Congress is leaving no stone unturned to win the Telangana State Assembly elections of 2018.
Congress is ready to offer Dy. CM post or any other post equivalent to Dy. CM. Congress core committee also discussed that it is ready to allot around ten seats to TJS. Congress is also off the view that grand alliance will benefit immensely if Kodandaram campaigns in all 119 constituencies. Kodandaram who enjoys massive support among students and youth across the state can be a game changer for grand alliance. He
was the chairman for Joint Action Committee during last phase of Telangana movement.
Meanwhile, Indian National Congress presidents Rahul Gandhi will also be taking part in election campaign in the state. He is scheduled to attend ‘grand meetings’ at Charminar, Bhainsa and Kamareddy on 20th October. These three constituencies have huge muslim presence, so congress is trying to influence muslim voters in these areas with Rahul’s meetings. Whether all leaders of the grand alliance attend these meetings or Rahul Gandhi will be campaigning alone yet to be known. Since Congress and TDP are part of alliance, whether Chandrababu Naidu campaign for the alliance in Telangana or not will be interesting development to see.
