Congress releases third list of candidates

Ponnala Laxmaiah, the former Pradesh Congress Committee member has finally found a place in the Congress party’s candidate list for the upcoming Telangana Legislative Assembly elections.

His name was cleared by All India Congress Committee to contest from Janagaon constituency that he has been asking for sometime now.
One of the big names missing from the party’s third list was that of former minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy who was the aspirant for Sanathnagar constituency ticket. But barely a few minutes before Congress released its list, Telugu Desam Party, the Congress ally in the State, announced that Kuna Venkatesh Goud will be the TDP nominee from Sanathnagar.

The Congress on Saturday morning released its third list comprising 13 names including that of Ponnala.

so far released names of candidates for 88 constituencies. The party is yet to announce candidates for six more constituencies which will take its candidate tally to a total of 94 from the 119 Assembly constituencies for which elections are to be held on December 7.

The party said it picked Soyam Bapu Rao to contest from Boath (ST) constituency, Taher Bin Amdan from Nizamabad (Urban), Dr Rekula Bhupathi Reddy from Nizamabad (Rural), E Anil Kumar from Balkonda, D Sudhir Reddy from LB Nagar, Osman Bin Mohammad Al Hazri from Karwan, K Rajender Raju from Yakutpura, Kalem Baba from Bahdurpura, Beeram Harsh Vardhan Reddy from Kollapur, Balu Naik from Devarakonda (ST), Addanki Dayakar from Thungathurthy (SC), Ponnala Laxmaiah from Janagaon and Banoth Haripriya Naik from Yellandu (ST) constituencies.
