In Telangana, Congress State Affairs in charge R C Kuntia said, a petition will be filed in the High Court on Monday challenging the merger of 12 party MLAs group into the ruling TRS.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad yesterday, Kuntia accused state Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy of encouraging defections when a petition seeking the disqualification of MLAs who had switched loyalties to the TRS was pending with the High

Court.

He said, the Speaker did not take any steps when the Congress party had urged him to disqualify the MLAs and instead notified their merger into the TRS.

Kuntia said the disqualification petition will come for hearing on June 11the and the Congress party will file another petition on Monday against the merger. Kuntia dared the defecting MLAs to resign to their posts and join the TRS.
