The State Congress unit is all set to shortly take up padayatra programmes, which TPCC working president and Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy said, would sweep away the BJP.
“I will not reveal our plans, but State party president A Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkatreddy, myself and all leaders will take part in the padayatras,” Jagga Reddy told the media here on Tuesday.
Taking exception to BJP State president Bandi Sanjay’s remarks on seizing Nizam’s lands and properties, he accused the BJP leader of instigating communal feelings among the people. He wondered what the connection was
between Sanjay’s padayatra and Nizam’s lands. “In the name of those lands, the BJP has introduced religion-based politics in the State,” he said.
Meanwhile, TPCC vice-president G Niranjan, in a letter to DGP Mahender Reddy, appealed to him to restrict the BJP State chief from making provocative statements in the State.
“We have no objection to Sanjay’s programme, but the State Police should reconsider allowing him to continue with the padayatra, particularly in the wake of his comments on Nizam’s lands and properties,” he said.
