Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has challenged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to resign from his position and contest against him in the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
"If you really have the guts, resign from your Chief Ministerial seat and Kodangal seat and contest against me. I shall resign from my present Sircilla seat and contest against you," KTR stated, questioning the Congress party's track record in the constituency.
This challenge comes in response to Reddy's earlier statement, where he dared KTR to secure at least one Lok Sabha seat in
Telangana.
"I am challenging KTR (Rama Rao)... If you have guts, contest and win at least one seat in Telangana in the coming parliamentary elections," he had said during a public meeting at Chevella.
He also criticised former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for appointing his daughter K Kavitha as an MLC soon after she lost the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and another relative as the vice chairman of the state planning board.
Reddy went on to highlight the Congress government's commitment to welfare schemes and criticised the previous BRS government for alleged corruption and misuse of public funds.
