Prof S A Shukoor, special officer, Telangana State Haj Committee, announced setting up of a Haj Control Room at Haj House, Nampally, which will function round the clock in three shifts from September 9 to 14. Relatives of pilgrims may contact the Control Room over phone number 040-23238223 and in case of any difficulty, the Haj Committee would gather information from various sources, including the Haj Committee of India, the Indian Haj Mission and the Khadim-ul-Hujjaj and disseminate
it.
This would be the first Control Room in the country to disseminate information from Mecca during the Haj days. The Telangana State Haj Committee was the first in the country to set up a Control Room last year when two tragedies occurred during Haj 2015, when a crane collapsed at Mecca and a stampede occurred at Mina. He said Haj pilgrims from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would start leaving Mecca for Mina, 11 km from Mecca, for the Haj rituals from Friday night.
