Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju has said the country is capable of handling any kind of threat, both internal and external. He was addressing a youth convention jointly organised by the National Service Scheme, NSS and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, NYKS on National Security - Modi Government Efforts & Achievement in Hyderabad yesterday.
He said the country needs to secure itself first in safeguarding its citizens to become developed and great one. He pointed out that the threats are not just from China or Pakistan but also from all along the
coastline.
Stating that there are constant exchange of intelligence and information between various security wings for quicker response after Modi-Led Government came to power, Mr Rijiju said the government wants a robust policing and security system in place.
Later speaking to media, he refused to comment about the current impasse with China on Dokalam and Ladakh incidents. Responding to another question, Mr Rijiju said the NIA will be investigating into forcible conversion and marriage in Kerala following the Supreme Court’s ruling. He added there appears to be a definite pattern.
