Couple held for stealing 40 tolas gold

The Chilkalguda police on Monday arrested a couple for the alleged theft of 40 tolas of gold ornaments from the house of their employer, N.S. Narasimha Rao. Police identified the accused as Lova Kumari, a domestic help, and her husband Veerababu.

Quoting from the complaint, police said that Narasimha



Rao realised that the theft had occurred when they opened the almirah locker in their bedroom to take out ornaments for Bonalu but found them missing. Police said that the accused had confessed to the theft, and said that they stole the ornaments to repay their debts.
