Couple killed as car mows down moped in Nirmal

Nirmal: A couple was killed when a car mowed down the two-wheeler on which they were travelling at Madhapur village in Soan mandal on Thursday evening.

Soan ASI Shaik Ahmed said that Madipeddi Sayanna, a daily wage earner (56), his wife Posani (50), also daily wage labourer from Pakpatla village, sustained serious injuries when the car hit the moped, resulting in instantaneous death for Sayanna. Posani succumbed to injuries while being shifted to hospital in Nizamabad.

The



couple was on their way to attend a function at Dudigaon at the time of the mishap. The car from Tamil Nadu was heading to Adilabad. Rash and negligent driving was suspected to be the cause of the accident.

Sayanna, who had two wives, is now survived by one wife, three sons and a daughter.

Based on a complaint received from Suresh, the elder son of Sayanna, a case was registered against the driver of the car. Investigations were taken up.
