Two more persons with travel history to China were admitted to Gandhi Hospital on Friday. While one person tested negative for 2019-nCoV, the novel coronavirus that is causing COVID-19 disease, the results from the diagnostic tests on the swab samples of the second person are expected to arrive on Saturday.
Since the launch of the massive surveillance activities for COVID-19 in Hyderabad, 89 persons with travel history to China and with symptoms like cold and mild fever were admitted to Gandhi Hospital and Fever Hospital. Out of the 89 persons, 88
have tested negative for 2019-nCoV and all of them have been discharged but advised home isolation for the next 28 days. The surveillance teams will be making regular visits to their homes to check on their well-being.
According to the Directorate of Public Health, Telangana, there are 108 more persons, who have travel history to China, but are asymptomatic, which means they don’t have any symptoms associated with COVID-19. However, all the 108 passengers are under home isolation for 28 days.
