Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty has placed SHOs of RGIA police station R. Srinivas and KPHB police station D. Venkatesh under suspension.
The action against Srinivas was based on a complaint from a banker residing at Gachibowli. He alleged that Srinivas had implicated her, her parents and brother in a case related to a civil dispute, even though it did not fall under his police station jurisdiction.
In her complaint, the banker alleged that at the behest of another woman, who had invested in her mother’s real estate venture, Srinivas had arrested all her family members. He not only took up a case from outside his jurisdiction, but did not even conduct the investigation in
a fair manner and kept harassing them.
Meanwhile, Venkatesh came under the radar after the manager of a private bank complained to the CP over the injustice meted out to him. The manager was summoned by the KPHB police after his wife complained of harassment.
Acting on the complaint, the victim was called to the PS, where he was beaten up. The victim, after being let off by the cops, got treated in a hospital and then approached the CP, who ordered an inquiry into the allegations.
After inquiries into both incidents proved that the allegations were true, the commissioner placed the two SHOs under suspension on Thursday.
