Panic gripped Bahadurpura and its surroundings in the south of the city after a crocodile was spotted on the banks of the Musi River on Thursday afternoon.
A local resident noticed the crocodile resting on the sides of the river and alerted the local police patrol about it. The police personnel immediately alerted the forest department authorities who rushed a team to the
spot.
As the news spread, several people from adjoining areas are thronging the area to have a glimpse of the crocodile. The police are having a tough time controlling the crowd.
Teams of the forest department are trying to capture the crocodile, which is suspected to have made its way into the city from the Himayat Sagar or Osman Sagar.
