Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar warned people against illegal transportation and slaughtering of camels in view of the Bakird festival.

In a note here, Sajjanar said the Cyberabad Police had been put on high alert to check transportation and slaughtering of camels for the ‘festival of the sacrifice’.

“Cyberabad Police will keep a close watch on persons and traders who were engaged in illegal transportation and slaughtering of camels and selling of



camel meat,” he said, adding that any contravention of the rule was publishable as per the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals act, 1960, GHMC Act, 1955 and under section 429 of the Indian Penal Code which attracts imprisonment of upto five years or fine or both.

If anyone finds violations in this regard, they can inform on Dial 100 or WhatsApp 9490617444 and the complainant’s identity will not be revealed, he added.
