On eve of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) that gets underway in the city, techies in and around Hi-Tec City were issued advisories by their companies to consider work from home owing to VVIP movement and traffic diversions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump will attend the inauguration of GES which is expected to witness over 1,500 delegates from across the world. Hours after the Cyberabad traffic police imposed traffic diversions in the western corridor, the IT staff has been asked to make alternate arrangements.

In view of the Hyderabad Metro inauguration at 3.30pm, vehicular movement from Miyapur towards Kondapur, Kothaguda will be diverted to Chandanagar, Nallagandla flyover, Hyderabad Central University via Gachibowli.Similarly, those coming from Patancheru, ICRISAT Beeramguda, RC Puram, Ashok Nagar and BHEL towards Kukatpally have been asekd to take



diversion via BHEL Rotary, Nallagandla flyover, Gulmohar Park junction, Hyderabad Central University and to Mehdipatnam.

“All the delegates after the GES inauguration will leave towards Hyderabad from HICC, Madhapur at 7 pm. In view of this, all the commuters going from and towards Kothaguda, Botanical Garden, Gachibowli and ORR are advised to take alternate route between 6pm and 8pm,” reads the traffic advisory issued by the Cyberabad police on Sunday. 

The Cyberabad police have urged the IT staff to make alternative arrangements. “The HR head of the company sent an email to all employees of our company on Monday along with the Cyberabad police traffic advisory attached with it stating that we are allowed to work from home to avoid inconvenience for the next three days,” said Krishna Papineni, a software engineer working in an IT giant in Gachibowli.
