Following complaints from people on frequent traffic congestion on the National Highway 44 due to the rush at function halls on the route, the Cyberabad Police have started taking steps to solve the problem.
The vehicles of guests visiting these halls for various events were parked haphazardly or moving slow, leading to inconvenience to citizens on their way either to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport or Bengaluru.
In this connection, a meeting was held by Cyberabad Police with managements of various function halls situated along the highway in Shamshabad and Rajendranagar here on Friday to discuss the modalities to reduce traffic congestion.
Representatives from 23 function halls
participated in the meeting which was attended by police officers from Rajendranagar and Shamshabad areas. Police said many halls were found with no sufficient parking space, no traffic management plans or approach roads.
The Traffic Police has also suggested improving logistics (traffic barricades, cones, signage, CCTV and public addressal systems), proper system for traffic management inside and around the function halls, trained staff to regulate traffic, proper approach roads to halls, pick up and drop off provisions, etc.
Cyberabad Police are also contemplating to issue guidelines to all these function halls along the highway which links the city to the airport.
