GHMC Commissioner, Dana Kishore has directed all the ZCs/ACs/DCs/AMOHs/EEs, Emergency Monsoon Teams, Transport Wing to take up a special drive to remove all the construction and debris waste, garbage to clear all these things within a span of 10 days to beautify the city on priority.
After assuming the charge, the Commissioner held a special meeting with all the ZCs/ACs/DCs/AMOHs/ Engineering and Transport Wings at GHMC Head Office yesterday. Interacting with the officials, the Commissioner said all the officials must take the responsibility to provide basic minimum facilities and various civic needs to the citizens with clear transparency and one should have a vision to beautify the city with moral responsibility while performing the duties, he added.
“All the ZCs/DCs must monitor personally the works to complete in the stipulated time and also to utilize all the emergency teams, Vigilance and Enforcement Teams to have a better coordination. Around 2000 km stretches exist in the GHMC limits all the C&D waste and garbage must
be cleared regularly issuing notices to the irregularities done by the people so that the waste should not be accumulated again in the cleared areas”, he said.
Stating that the C&D waste wing has 22 vehicles, the Commissioner instructed the officials to increase the number of vehicles to 100 to clear the waste speedily. He said he would make random checks during the drive. He also said every official must perform their duties with more responsibility failing which severe action will be taken against them.
Stating that lifting of waste was the moral responsibility of DC and AMOH, the Commissioner has appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the GHMC in the special drive to make the city clean and green. The 44 monsoon emergency teams of HMWS&SB can also be utilized for the purpose. The Minister for MA&UD was also posting a lot of grievances on Twitter and it has to resolve on the spot duly intimating to the higher authorities of the resolved cases.
