The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education has declared the Dasara holidays for all junior colleges from September 20 to October 2.

The colleges offering two years of intermediate course will reopen on October 3. The secretary of TSBIE A Ashok, in a circular issued to all colleges, instructed to follow the schedule ,“All the principals and managements of private unaided junior colleges in the state are instructed not to conduct any classes during holidays. Violations of instructions will be viewed seriously and



stern action will be initiated against the erring managementsprincipals,“ reads the circular.

There are total 404 government junior colleges and over 1,500 private unaided junior colleges in which over three lakh students are enrolled.

Meanwhile, degree and post-graduate colleges will continue to function as the government has not declared holidays for them. However, colleges will be shut for Dasara on September 30 as the government has declared it as a general holiday.
