Dearness Relief for Telangana govt pensioners enhanced by 3.14%

The Finance Department on Friday issued orders enhancing the Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners of the Telangana government on par with the dearness allowance of the government employees, by 3.144 per cent with retrospective effect from January 1 this year.

Accordingly, the basic pay was increased from 30.392 per cent to 33.536 per cent for both the State government employees and pensioners by the State Cabinet



recently. 

As per the orders, the increased DR for November will be paid along with the pensions paid on December 1. The arrears pertaining to enhanced DR for January to October shall be claimed along with the pension of December, payable in January next year. The hike in DR will not be applicable for pensioners who received Financial Assistance under Aasara scheme.
